UN INQUIRY ACCUSES ISRAEL OF

DELIBERATELY TARGETING GAZA'S CHILDREN

A new United Nations inquiry has concluded that Israel's actions against Palestinian children in Gaza amount to some of the gravest crimes under international law. The report alleges that Israeli forces deliberately targeted children during military operations, contributing to what the commission described as genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.

According to the inquiry, more than 20,000 Palestinian children were killed between October 2023 and October 2025, representing roughly 30 percent of the reported deaths in Gaza during that period. Investigators argued that the scale of child casualties, combined with attacks on schools, hospitals, and other civilian infrastructure, reflects a broader pattern that goes beyond the stated military objective of defeating Hamas.

The commission stated that children have suffered not only from airstrikes and military attacks, but also from displacement, hunger, trauma, and the collapse of essential services. It argued that the destruction of conditions necessary for children's survival and development has had devastating long-term consequences for Gaza's future.

The findings were strongly rejected by Israel, which dismissed the report as biased and denied deliberately targeting civilians. Israeli officials have consistently argued that Hamas operates within civilian areas and bears responsibility for placing civilians at risk during the conflict.

Regardless of where governments stand on the issue, the report adds to growing international scrutiny of the war and raises difficult questions about accountability. For many observers, the sheer number of children killed, injured, displaced, or left traumatized by the conflict represents one of the most disturbing aspects of the war. The UN inquiry argues that these losses are not simply a tragic byproduct of combat but evidence of a broader pattern that demands international attention and investigation.
