EARTH FUTURE ACTION

The U.S. food environment is deadlier than most realize. Ultra-processed foods—packed with synthetic additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, seed-oil byproducts, emulsifiers, colorants, and chemicals linked to cancer, metabolic dysfunction, and endocrine disruption—dominate grocery shelves and fast-food menus. What’s marketed as “convenient” or “healthy enough” is often biologically corrosive. Corporate profit, not public health, shapes what is affordable and accessible.
DIET & FOOD SAFETY
Healthy eating supports immune function, mental clarity, energy stability, and
long-term disease prevention.
Healthy eating basics:
- Eat mostly whole foods: veggies, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts
- Get protein from fish, eggs, poultry, tofu, lentils
- Include healthy fats: olive oil, avocado, flaxseed, fatty fish
- Limit sugar, processed foods, fried foods, and trans fats
- Choose organic when possible (check the EWG’s
“Dirty Dozen” and "Clean
Fifteen")
Food safety tips:
- Wash all produce
- Use separate cutting boards for raw meat
- Reheat food to 165°F or until steaming
- Microwave leftovers until piping hot
- When in doubt, throw it out—never risk food poisoning
