developed a close relationship with Donald Trump, who reportedly began
watching her sermons and later sought her out as a spiritual adviser.

inauguration.

initiatives has renewed attention to the mixture of televangelism, political

election. On November 4, 2020, while votes were still being counted across
several battleground states, White-Cain led a livestreamed prayer service in
which she portrayed the election not simply as a democratic process but as a
supernatural battle.
During the prayer, she claimed spiritual forces were
being mobilized to influence the outcome, declaring, “angels are being
dispatched right now… angels from Africa, angels from South America.”
The language, delivered in an intense and theatrical style familiar to
televangelist broadcasts, quickly spread across social media and cable news.
The speech became most widely known for a moment
when White-Cain began chanting a phrase that soon circulated around the world:
“Strike and strike and strike and strike
until you have victory.”
She continued by proclaiming “I hear a sound
of victory… the Lord says it is done,” presenting the election
outcome as something already determined through divine authority.
The spectacle highlighted the formula defining much
of prosperity-gospel televangelism: dramatic declarations, spiritual warfare
themes, and emotionally charged appeals to mass audiences. Critics argue that
these performances blur the line between religious devotion and political
propaganda, reinforcing the fundraising-driven culture of many televangelist
ministries.
Today, as White-Cain serves as leader of the newly
created White House Faith Office, her rise from television preacher to
presidential religious adviser spotlights how thoroughly prosperity evangelism
and political power now shape one another in the United States. The viral clip
